Health screening 40+

After the age of 40, it is especially important to regularly check the main health indicators. Some changes may not affect well-being for a long time, so a preventive examination helps to detect disorders in time and, if necessary, start treatment

Since 2026, the national program «Health Screening 40+» has been operating in Ukraine, which gives citizens aged 40 and older the opportunity to undergo a set of examinations free of charge to assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, and mental health problems.

Screening can be undergone at the «Oxford Medical» medical center in Kyiv by prior appointment. Contact the contact center by the phone number indicated on the website — the administrators will provide all the details and help you choose a convenient time for the examination.

The program includes a comprehensive examination and a doctor’s consultation.

Physical examination:

• measurement of blood pressure and heart rate;

• determination of weight, height, waist circumference, and body mass index;

• electrocardiography (ECG) — if indicated.

Laboratory tests:

• lipid profile — total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol;

• glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c);

• if indicated — blood electrolytes (sodium and potassium), creatinine with calculation of the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), determination of the albumin-to-creatinine ratio in urine (ACR).

Assessment of lifestyle and risk factors:

• questionnaire regarding lifestyle, physical activity, harmful habits, and existing symptoms;

• assessment of the risk of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes mellitus;

• assessment of mental health status.

Doctor’s consultation:

• consultation with an internist with an assessment of the screening results and recommendations regarding further health monitoring.

Doctors at «Oxford Medical» explain that the program allows not simply taking individual tests, but comprehensively assessing the main health risks and determining whether further medical monitoring or treatment is needed.

With age, the risk of developing chronic diseases gradually increases. At the same time, at early stages, many of them may not have noticeable symptoms. For example, a person may not know about elevated blood pressure for years, while the symptoms of type 2 diabetes mellitus may be mildly expressed.

According to Всесвітньої організації охорони здоров’я, the risk of cardiovascular diseases increases with age, so after the age of 40, regular health checks become especially important. An illustrative example is arterial hypertension: about 1.4 billion people aged 30–79 worldwide have it, while approximately 44% of them do not know about their condition.

Screening makes it possible to detect such changes before complaints appear. If the results are outside the normal range, the doctor will explain which additional examinations are needed and what to do next.

If you have turned 40, you can take part in the program at any convenient time.

To undergo «Health Screening 40+» at «Oxford Medical» in Kyiv:

• Submit an application. In the Diia application, open «Services» → «Assistance from the State» → «Health Screening», submit an application and select Diia.Card. If you do not use Diia, you can submit an application to participate in the program through the Administrative Services Center.

• Receive UAH 2,000 for screening. The state support funds will be credited to the Diia.Card within 7 days after submitting the application. They can be used only to pay for «Health Screening 40+» at a medical institution that participates in the program.

• Make an appointment at «Oxford Medical». After the funds are credited, contact the contact center of the medical center. The administrators will provide the details and help you choose a convenient time for the examination.

• Undergo the screening and pay for it with the Diia.Card. At the medical center, you will undergo the set of examinations provided for by the program and receive the doctor’s recommendations. Payment is made with the Diia.Card using the state support funds.

Important: the received funds must be used within two months from the moment they are credited. After this period ends, unused funds are automatically returned to the state budget.
