Removal of a baby tooth – although it is an exciting, but painless procedure. At the “Oxford Medical” clinic, it is performed under local anesthesia or sedation (drug sleep). In both cases, the child does not feel anything and leaves the clinic without tears.
In children, the roots of baby teeth begin to resorb from the age of 3. Between the ages of 6 and 12, they fall out and are replaced by permanent ones. Ideally, this process should not be disrupted by premature tooth extraction. This procedure is a last resort and is recommended only when saving the tooth is no longer possible or is impractical.

The use of drug sleep is advisable when the child is facing a complex procedure, several teeth need to be removed or filled in one session, the child is very afraid or cannot sit out the entire session due to their young age.
The process of tooth extraction is quite quick and consists of the following stages:
Anesthesia.
Tooth extraction using special forceps.
Skin preparation.
Stopping bleeding and placing a cotton swab.
In some cases, stitches are also applied to close the wound.
After tooth extraction, the child needs to hold the cotton swab in place for 30 minutes, not eat or drink anything for 2 hours, brush their teeth carefully and not suck out the blood clot on their own.
