Detection of specific antibodies to viruses or bacteria. Allows confirmation of acute or past infections and assessment of immunity to certain diseases.

Study of a sample (e.g., throat swab or urine) to detect pathogens and determine their antibiotic sensitivity. Important for selecting effective treatment.

The doctor carefully listens to the complaints, clarifies the duration of symptoms, presence of contact with sick individuals, previous infections, vaccination status, and chronic diseases.

A visual inspection of the skin, mucous membranes, and lymph nodes is conducted. If necessary, auscultation of the lungs, abdominal palpation, and assessment of general condition may be performed.

The infectious disease specialist may recommend laboratory or instrumental studies to clarify the diagnosis. These are often general tests, PCR, cultures, and serological tests.

After the diagnosis is established, the doctor prescribes a treatment plan: medications, regimen, diet, and preventive measures. If needed, a referral to a related specialist is given.
