Before the examination begins, the patient lies down on a special movable tomograph table. During the procedure, it is important to remain still, as this affects the clarity of the obtained images.
After preparation, the table smoothly moves inside the machine, and the scanning begins. During the operation of the tomograph, characteristic rhythmic sounds can be heard — this is a normal part of the process.
During MRI, a series of layered images is taken, which makes it possible to assess in detail the condition of the tissues in this area, including the sacrum, soft tissues, and adjacent structures. The procedure is painless and does not cause unpleasant sensations.
The duration of the examination is usually 15–25 minutes. After completion, the radiologist analyzes the obtained images and prepares a written report describing the detected changes or confirming their absence.
