The mandatory medical examination for kindergarten includes an examination by a primary care physician and a dentist. A pediatrician or family doctor assesses the child’s general condition and physical development, measures height and weight, conducts a basic examination of vision, hearing, posture and the condition of the feet, and also assesses compliance with the main age-related development indicators.
Before admission to a preschool institution, it is also necessary to take:
- a complete blood count;
- a general urine test;
- a stool test for worm eggs.
Consultations with an ophthalmologist, neurologist, otolaryngologist, orthopedist and other specialized doctors are not mandatory for every child in order to obtain a certificate for kindergarten. If there are complaints or possible disorders are detected during the examination, the pediatrician refers the child to the appropriate specialist.
