Lipofilling
Lipofilling
Fat tissues, removed from the places of their excess accumulation, can be used for surgical repair of aesthetic body contour problems. Such a technique is called lipomodelling or lipofilling.
Indications for Lipofilling
Lipofilling is successfully used for the correction of the following areas:
-
chin;
-
buttocks;
-
thighs;
-
lower legs.
Lipofilling is also implemented for breast enlargement.
Lipomodelling makes it possible to correct unaesthetic contours of the parts of body enumerated above. Moreover, this procedure is effective for the correction of the area between the knees (when the problem of crooked legs takes place).
How Lipofilling is performed
During the procedure the plastic surgeon removes fat tissues from the places of their unwished accumulation by means of thin metal tubes or o syringe (liposuction). After that fat tissue is undergone purification procedure. It should be cleaned from admixture of blood and only after that it can be placed into corrected areas in thin layers.
If significant volumes of fat tissues are displaced, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia. In other cases local anesthesia or sedation (medical sleep) is enough. The procedure takes about an hour.
After a while blood vessels enlace the displaced tissue and begin to nourish it. More than 90% of fat cells injected to the patient successfully survive in new conditions.
Immediately after surgery the patient is dressed in compression garments to tighten the skin and prevent the involuntary movement of fat tissue. The first day is carried out under the supervision of a specialist, further rehabilitation takes place at home.
Rehabilitation after Lipofilling
Lipomodelling is recommended to do in autumn and winter – at this time the recovery of the body runs easier. During the first three weeks after surgery, patients wear compression garments constantly. Hereinafter they are allowed to take it off at night.
In 2 months the external look of the corrected areas improves, although the periodic swelling is not excluded. The results of lipofilling can be evaluated in 3 months, and the final effect will appear a year later. The procedure has a sustainable effect which lasts for 7-10 years.
A point to keep in mind is that a significant weight loss can influence the contour of the areas operated.
If a patient gains weight, the accumulation of subcutaneous fat will take place proportionally throughout the body.
Lipofilling in Oxford Medical clinic is carried out by an experienced surgeon, Candidate of Medicine, regular member of ISAPS (International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), associated member of IPRAS (International Plastic Reconstruction Association), regular member of UAPRAS (Ukrainian Plastic Reconstruction Association) – Petakh Andrey Vasilevich.
