What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the growth of subcutaneous fat tissue, which is accompanied by a change in the structure of cells, as well as a deterioration in local blood circulation and metabolic processes. Externally, it manifests itself in the deterioration of the skin relief, the formation of bumps and depressions or, as they say, an orange peel.

Cellulite occurs in more than 85% of women of all ages, regardless of weight and physique. In medical circles, it is considered not a disease, but rather a physiological process. However, cellulite cannot be considered only a cosmetic problem, because in some cases it can be caused by serious disorders in the body.

Causes of cellulite

The causes of cellulite development are:

genetic predisposition

hormonal imbalance

endocrine system diseases

metabolic disorder

weight gain

passive lifestyle

unbalanced diet

smoking

More details

One of the main causes of cellulite is an imbalance of female sex hormones - estrogens. During the menstrual cycle, they are produced in different quantities and compensate for each other's effects. If their ratio is disturbed, certain malfunctions occur in the body. Including they affect the condition of adipose and connective tissue.

Also, although cellulite can develop in slim people, excess weight increases the likelihood of its appearance many times. Accordingly, a sedentary lifestyle and improper diet can lead to weight gain and the appearance of the so-called orange peel.

Smoking is an equally important factor. It leads to thinning of the vascular walls and the deposition of resins and other substances added to tobacco in them. As a result, blood supply is disrupted and cellular metabolism slows down.

How to understand if you have cellulite?

You can check for cellulite yourself. To do this, grab a fold of skin and look for characteristic bumps. If so, the answer is most likely positive. If the skin remains smooth, then there is no such problem.

If cellulite is severe, obesity or the presence of other symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to consult a doctor. Cellulite can be caused by various disorders in the body that require medical supervision and treatment.

Stages of cellulite development

There are 4 stages of cellulite development:

  1. In the first stage, the external manifestations of cellulite are almost invisible. The skin remains smooth, only sometimes slight swelling and edema appear.
  2. In the second stage, an “orange peel” appears. Swelling increases, the blood supply to the tissues is disrupted, and oxygen starvation of the cells occurs. Fat deposits become denser and begin to grow collagen fibers.
  3. In the third stage, cellulite becomes more noticeable - large bumps appear on the skin. Due to tissue edema, blood vessels are squeezed and cellular metabolism is disrupted - the end products of metabolism are not removed from the cells, and they do not receive nutrients. The skin in the place of cellulite accumulation seems cooler than in other areas.
  4. In the fourth stage, fibrous cellulite develops, for the treatment of which medical indications appear. Blood circulation and lymph flow are severely disrupted. The skin becomes cold, a bluish tint appears, and sensitivity decreases.

Cellulite is most often noticed at stage 2 or 3, when, with the right treatment, it can be successfully eliminated.

Cellulite treatment methods

Cellulite treatment methods

To eliminate cellulite, a comprehensive approach is necessary:

  • nutrition correction;
  • dosed physical activity;
  • massage and cosmetic procedures;
  • treatment of concomitant diseases, normalization of metabolism and body weight.

All elements are equally important, and you can achieve results only by adhering to a clearly developed plan. To make this easier, you can contact a nutritionist to draw up an individual menu, a fitness trainer to develop a training program, and a cosmetologist to conduct anti-cellulite procedures.

There are other procedures that are used to combat cellulite. To get the maximum effect, it is better to consult a specialist in advance. He will select the most effective therapy taking into account the stage of cellulite and other individual characteristics.

The main methods of treating cellulite

Today, the most effective methods are:

Hardware figure correction using Icoone Laser Body

Innovative technology that combines micromechanical stimulation, laser and LED radiation. Cellulite treatment with the Icoone device promotes deep tissue drainage, reduction of local fat deposits and a noticeable increase in skin elasticity without pain and recovery period.

Body shaping with VelaShape III device

It has a complex effect on subcutaneous fat, which contributes to a significant reduction in body volume after a course of procedures.

Injection lipolysis

The introduction of drugs under the skin that cause the resorption of fat cells and local elimination of cellulite.

Radio wave lipolysis

The effect on fat deposits is carried out using radio wave energy.

Shockwave therapy

It involves exposure to low-frequency sound waves.

Vacuum massage

Helps soften fatty tissue and reduce swelling.

Envelopment

A complex of various procedures that involve applying various bioactive substances to the skin and applying bandages (most often film is used) for a thermal effect.

Prevention of cellulite

To prevent cellulite, it is first recommended to adhere to a healthy lifestyle: exercise, eat a balanced diet, drink enough water, give up smoking and alcohol. These bad habits negatively affect the condition of blood vessels, which disrupts the normal blood supply to cells, slows down metabolism and increases the likelihood of developing cellulite.

Also, to prevent cellulite, it is recommended to:

  • take a contrast shower;
  • wear comfortable shoes (high-heeled shoes affect the condition of blood vessels and can also contribute to impaired blood supply to fat and connective tissue cells);
  • do not wear clothes that squeeze the body and disrupt blood circulation;
  • take massage courses and hardware procedures;
  • do self-massage of problem areas.

Була на косметологічній процедурі у Потапчук Ірини Станіславівни. Дуже сподобалося ставлення — все стерильно, комфортно, без болю. Лікарка пояснила кожен етап і дала рекомендації для домашнього догляду.
