Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy
The mesotherapy is the modern injection method of rejuvenation. The mesotherapy consists in intradermal and subcutaneous injection of vitamins, microelements and other medications in the area, with which the doctor works, distantly from it. The purpose of mesotherapy is to achieve the curative effect from the impact of pharmaceutical drugs as well as to obtain the reflexogenic impact from irritation of biologically active skin points by “beauty injections”. The medications of the mesotherapy are injected in small doses – it allows reducing the risk of appearance of allergic reactions of the organism. The mesotherapy is performed for skin moisturizing, increasing its elasticity as well as for improving the drainage of excessive fluid in tissues.
Whom will the procedure be useful for?
The mesotherapy is applied for:
- effective treatment of many skin diseases, for example, acne, seborrhea, rosacea and couperose;
- correction of age-related changes;
- treatment of hair loss, scars, stretch marks and cellulite;
- preparation for performance of plastic surgeries and rehabilitation after them.
The dermatocosmetologist determines the possibility of combining the mesotherapy with other methodologies.
How does it work?
The procedure of mesotherapy is usually performed manually, using the syringe. The doctor does not use a special injector, as the facial areas (especially eyelids, eye contour area and nasolabial furrows) require extremely careful needle administration. The facial mesotherapy is a painless procedure. It lasts for about 15-20 minutes. One procedure is not enough: for achieving the permanent effect, you should undergo the course of mesotherapy sessions. For example, for eliminating the wrinkles around eyes, you need to perform 3-4 procedures with a one week interval, and for face skin lifting – 8 procedures.
How is mesotherapy performed at Oxford Medical?
First, the injection beautician assesses the patient's skin condition and determines which drug is best to use and which area to inject it into. Immediately before the procedure, he cleanses and disinfects the skin with an antiseptic. After that, if necessary, the specialist applies an anesthetic to the skin so that the injections do not cause discomfort. But many patients refuse anesthesia, since very thin needles are used for mesotherapy, which are inserted just a few millimeters under the skin.
Depending on the area, the beautician performs injections manually or using a mesoinjector. The injections are made at a distance of approximately 1 cm. The procedure takes an average of 20 to 40 minutes. After its completion, therapeutic agents are applied to the skin to accelerate healing.
