The development of SMAS lifting was a revolution in cosmetology. It allows for targeted impact on the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (known as SMAS), located at a depth of 4–5 mm. Until recently, this could only be achieved surgically.

The SMAS layer consists of muscles and ligaments and is responsible for skin elasticity and contour definition. Its deterioration leads to deep wrinkles, sagging jowls, a double chin, drooping eyelids, and the corners of the mouth.

Facial lifting enables effective correction of these problems without damaging the epidermis! Rejuvenation occurs naturally through tissue regeneration.

The procedure is performed using the Doublo GOLD device from the Korean company Hironic, which is CE (Conformité Européenne) and FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) certified.

In addition to facial lifting, the device enables lipolysis, i.e., reduction of fat deposits not only on the face but also on the body.

The result of SMAS lifting becomes visible in about a month and continues to improve for 3 months. The natural lifting effect is caused by the stimulation of type I collagen — also known as "youth collagen." The result lasts up to 1.5–2 years.

The procedure is usually repeated once a year (in rare cases — once every 6 months).

Before the procedure, the skin is cleansed and disinfected. Then, a hydrogel is applied to improve ultrasound penetration and protect the skin from overheating. Local anesthesia can be applied if desired.

Next, the specialist adjusts the depth and intensity settings on the device and performs lifting or lipolysis on the face, neck, décolleté, abdomen, or other areas using the appropriate handpiece. The patient may feel mild tingling or warmth.

After the session (which usually lasts 30–60 minutes), the gel is removed, the skin is cleansed, and a soothing cream is applied.

SMAS lifting is a non-surgical lifting or laser-free rejuvenation. The top layer of skin is not injured, so there are no marks. You can leave the clinic and head straight to a business meeting.

Some mild discomfort may occur for a few days. To minimize this and prevent inflammation, patients are prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and a topical ointment for 3–5 days.

After lipolysis, patients are usually prescribed hepatotherapy to safely and effectively eliminate fat breakdown products.

SMAS lifting is based on high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology. At temperatures of 65–75°C, thermal coagulation occurs in the targeted tissues, triggering natural regeneration and fat breakdown.

Only specific tissues are affected. Layers above and below the focus remain intact. This protects the epidermis and allows patients to return to their routine immediately after the procedure.

A customized treatment plan is created for each patient using a dynamic subdermal imaging system.
