Otolaringology (ENT) surgery
Otolaringology (ENT) surgery
Surgical methods in ENT practice are used in cases where treatment with medication and physiotherapy is ineffective and does not eliminate the problem. Most often otolaryngological operations are performed for the removal of adenoids, tonsils, polyps, cysts, benign and malignant tumors.

Indications for surgical treatment
The help of experienced otolaryngologists may be needed by the patients
suffering from:
curvature of the nasal septum
chronic sinusitis (maxillary sinusitis, frontal sinusitis)
adhesions in the nasal cavity
chronic tonsillitis
Ent Surgery Methods
Otolaryngological surgery can be:
-
endoscopic;
-
shave;
-
radiowave;
-
laser.
Endoscopic surgery is performed by means of an endoscope - a flexible tube equipped with a light source, a video camera and surgical instruments. Due to this the operation is performed with the minimum possible tissue injury, and the patient's recovery is faster and easier.
Shave surgery involves the use of a special tool (shaver), the nozzles of which allow removing benign tumors in the nasopharynx and nasal cavity (polyps, adenoids).
A shaver is a hollow tube with a blade that rotates in a protective case with a small hole to grip and excise affected tissue. Thanks to this design the surgeon practically does not affect healthy tissues.
The use of a laser or radiowave knife "Surgitron" allows performing a number of interventions without excising tissues, and coagulating them under the influence of laser or radio waves, carrying out the removal nonbloody.
