Mammal oncologist
Oncomammology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasms of the mammary glands – the most common tumor pathology among women of all ages. These diseases are constantly "getting younger" - breast cancer is increasingly affecting young women.

Symptoms and Forms of Breast Cancer
Breast cancer can be of several forms with different symptoms:
-
nodular form - a painless node or tumor is formed without clear contours;
-
diffuse form may manifest itself by swelling of the breast, the formation of a seal with a decrease in breast size;
-
Paget's disease or nipple cancer, in which a long-term non-healing ulcer appears.
Breast cancer in men is rare, remaining mainly a female disease.
Diagnosis of Breast Cancer
The examination of the patient begins with a consultation of an oncosurgeon-mammologist, where he conducts an examination, palpation, analyzes complaints and interviews the patient.
Further examination may include:
-
breast ultrasound;
-
laboratory tests (cancer markers, hormones);
-
node puncture;
-
chest X-ray or CT scan.
In addition the doctor may prescribe to consult other specialists of narrow profiles (gynecologist, endocrinologist) and to do ultrasound of the pelvis, thyroid, abdominal organs, etc. This is necessary in order to make sure that the malignant process is localized only in the breast.
The Treatment of Breast Cancer
Depending on the diagnosis the treatment may include surgical, medical and reconstructive components.
The surgical stage is aimed at removing the malignant neoplasm or breast completely (mastectomy), if necessary, with lymph nodes of the axillary group. Medical treatment consists of hormonal and chemotherapy. At the reconstructive stage a plastic surgeon is involved. His target is to compensate for the aesthetic defect caused by the treatment with the help of the implant.
The sequence of stages, as well as their necessity, are determined by the attending doctor after examination of the patient.
The treatment is carried out on the basis of a private surgical hospital of the "Oxford Medical" clinic in Kiev, at the address Bereznyakovskaya Street, 30B. The clinic possesses a modern operating unit with two operating rooms fitted with exclusively new equipment. For diagnostic procedures CT and digital X-ray, produced by the Siemens AG (Germany), are used.
Rehabilitation and recovery takes place in comfortable single and double wards of the hospital.
