Treatment of urinary incontinence in women (TVT-O surgery)

TVT-operation is the treatment of urinary incontinence in women by surgical method using a solid tape with a width of not more than 1 cm (synthetic endoprosthesis), which is installed in place of damage of urethral ligaments in urinary tract. TVT or Tension-free Vaginal Tape maintains the canal in its natural position, preventing involuntary urination.

Urinary incontinence is a violation of the process of urination, characterized by the inability to control it. Due to pressure during pregnancy and the specific constitution of the urinary tract, women face this problem 5 times more often than men.

In case of urinary incontinence, the following symptoms are observed:

• "leaking" of urine at any physical activity;

• frequent urge to urinate;

• constant smell of urine.

If the pathology is combined with sagging bladder, pain in the lower abdomen, a feeling of a foreign object in the vagina, a feeling of incomplete emptying, pain during intercourse are observed.

Diagnosis of the disease includes several stages:

1.Medical history taking.

2.Check-up on the gynecological chair (helps to identify a prolapse of the pelvic organs, to conduct a functional test to detect fistulas of the genitourinary system).

3.Ultrasound of pelvic organs and bladder.

4.General analysis and bacteriological urine test, smear microscopy.
